Lower Elementary: K5 - 2nd Grade

 

Welcome! SWIA Elementary Lower Elementary Grades Program exists to provide a quality academic education that will nourish and enrich your child’s natural curiosity and set their character on a GODly path toward knowing CHRIST and becoming more like HIM. Our school curriculum is intentionally structured to weave scripture, worship and prayer into scheduled, everyday lessons and activities.

 

Theology
Structured time for Bible study is held each day to teach students GOD’s word and further their understanding of the message of JESUS CHRIST. Teachers use a combination of videos, discussion, and artwork to teach students foundational tenets about the Christian faith. We believe using scripture as our first source of wisdom helps students become excited about GOD’s Word and poises students to walk in HIS wisdom.  

 

Worship
Students attend worship and prayer every morning to begin the school day focused on our LORD. Worship time is student-led, with students helping bring the Bible Verse on a rotational basis. Peer-led worship gives a meaningful opportunity for students to pray for one another and and worship GOD together daily. 

 

Dual Language Acquisition
Each semester includes a foreign language focus, centering on Spanish and Chinese(Mandarin). During language time, students practice conversation and pronunciation with a native language teacher, as well as learn the customs and cultures of the focus language. Taking time to experience other language and culture is used both academically and as a teaching tool in how we are called to reach out and be friends to all nations!
