The History of
Still Waters International Academy

Still Waters Learning Center began in 2007, birthed from the vision of Reverend Dr. Carole Hulslander and the members of Still Waters Church. Those involved in the ministry felt a deep calling to bridge the gap between what their children were being taught on Sunday and what they were being exposed to the rest of the week. With most children spending an average of 6 hours per day in school over the course of a year, education is a key area of influence for young developing minds; but how a child is educated is infinitely more important. These covenant families desired a way to reach more young minds for CHRIST’s kingdom, and with the LORD’s help education would be a key way of doing it. The first branch was an After School Program, structured to pick up students in cooperation with neighboring public schools, offering homework help, and using the time as an opportunity to introduce children to the LORD each day. Exposed to the profound change that a CHRIST-culture environment made for the children in just a few hours per day, the church began to search for more ways they could reach young lives for GOD in their community. After countless months of preparation, we decided to increase program offerings to include Day Care, first ministering to infants and toddlers of the many church members at the time; and then expanding to reach neighboring families in the community. Before long, the children started aging out of daycare, and Still Waters forged ahead toward elementary education, giving the young minds they worked so hard to impact for the LORD at an early age a chance to continue growing and learn in an environment where the Word of GOD can be lifted along with a textbook.  The school’s name was also changed to help reflect the increasing range of program offerings.  As the years passed, the LORD continued calling dedicated church members to help, encouraging them to continue their own education as well as to help with many of the varied teaching roles. Still Waters Church leadership graciously continued to contribute toward this ministry of reaching others for CHRIST. Today, Still Waters International Academy continues to implement its vision of providing full primary education to students of all ages, ensuring they are fully equipped spiritually and academically, to hear the call of the LORD in their own lives and to fulfill the plans He has for them.
