Elementary School Program

At Still Waters International Academy’s Elementary School Program, innovation and exploration are key points. Our students are taught in a multitude of ways differing from standard teaching methods to help them think critically, be innovative, and form a closer relationship with JESUS CHRIST. In everything the students and teachers do in this program, the foremost goal is to create disciples of CHRIST and show them HIS love.

Still Waters Elementary School is a place where your child can challenge and explore knowledge in an environment that is CHRIST-like and safe. The goal of each classroom is not to pass on rote information, but to help students seek the truth through innovation, critical thinking, failure, and triumph. The goal of the teacher is to use a variety of teaching techniques, styles, and pedagogies to unlock the potential in each student. When we see the light bulb come on and a truth or an epiphany is revealed, we thank the LORD YESHUA, and remember that our mission is to bring students closer to CHRIST through the study of HIS Word!

Learning Grade Groups

Still Waters International Academy Elementary School serves students from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

The Elementary School is divided into three classrooms:

Kindergarten – 1st Grade, 2nd Grade – 3rd Grade, and 4th Grade – 5th Grade.

Kindergarten - 1st Grade
The focus of our youngest learners are to build a strong foundation in reading and math. Students will participate in a plethora of hands-on learning activities to help increase literacy, vocabulary, and mathematical reasoning. Our goal is to start building responsibility in these early years and develop good habits to carry forward in their academic journey (Isaiah 28:16). Students are responsible to bring back and forth their homework folders, turn in their homework, and participate in formal and informal language and math tests.
2nd Grade - 3rd Grade
Building on the foundation we made during K5/1st Grade, students are now ready to apply their foundational knowledge in more complex ways. Students will be required to take notes, study for tests, and complete classroom and home projects. The goal for these students is to teach them to be independent learners who know how to seek the answers to their questions (Luke 11:9-10).
4th Grade - 5th Grade
The class builds up students to refine learning abilities, take on more responsibility, and expand their critical thinking. The learners will be given intentional time to apply their comprehensive curriculum to hands-on and real-world situations. These learning connections can be found in the classroom economic system, student-led historical skits, relevant science experiments, and so much more. With this method, students not only grow academically, but they also build key traits for future excellence such as perseverance, grit, hard work, executing on ideas, effectively working in teams, and, most importantly, loving GOD and neighbors (Matthew 22:37-40).

Our Beliefs

Our elementary program is where faith and learning grow hand in hand. Rooted in biblical truth and guided by the Abeka curriculum, students engage in daily chapel—led by both teachers and peers—where they learn to worship freely, pray boldly, and study Scripture deeply. Through journaling, Bible story skits, songs, and screenplays, children begin to understand not just what the Bible says, but how to live it. Spiritual growth is woven into every subject, regular conversations, and every moment of the day, helping students anchor their identity in Christ and find freedom from anxiety, fear, and comparison.

Our Beliefs (contd.)

We nurture servant-hearted character through a reward system that celebrates love, empathy, and acts of service. Students are encouraged to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom, reflect on Scripture, and engage in deep faith discussions—even at a young age. For those who’ve experienced trauma or loss, our pastoral team and loving community offer immediate support and lasting trust. Academically, students thrive as their hearts open—attitudes shift, curiosity grows, and learning becomes joyful again.

Communication

At our elementary program, communication is key. We emphasize a strong connection between not just student and teacher but between teacher and parent to ensure the best outcome is met per student. We use Brightwheel to stay connected to parents, so they have the peace of mind seeing updates of their kids throughout the school day.

Academics

Students receive a strong academic foundation through Abeka, Bob Jones, and PragerU curriculum resources. Partnerships with GA Virtual School and Ethos School expand access to diverse online learning opportunities. Project-based learning, such as hydroponics or a chicken coop project, promotes creativity, problem-solving, and practical application of knowledge.

Homesteading

Beyond the classroom, students explore homesteading—learning to care for chickens, cook, garden, and even build small businesses that reflect stewardship and creativity. Every part of our program—from worship to writing, from science to service—is designed to help children grow into wise, courageous disciples who know they are loved by God and called to love others.

Field Trips

Elementary students have the opportunity to take fun, education trips that expand horizons and unlock potential. Trips such as ziplining, visiting the fire station, IFly, and nature wildlife reserves are just a few to mention. These trips are opportunities for your child to see the world, God’s creation and it fits in their everyday life.
